ONUR ULGEN

Onur Ulgen, PhD is the founder and President of PMC. Onur’s present consulting and research interests include simulation and scheduling, mathematical optimization, Lean Thinking, supply chain optimization, and advanced business analytics. Under his leadership, PMC has grown to be one of the largest independent operations and industrial engineering firms in North America. Onur and the PMC staff have completed over 5000 productivity improvement projects for over 600 companies including Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Toyota, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, General Electric, Johnson Controls, Merck, Northrop Grumman, Sara Lee, Sony, St. Johns Hospital, and Whirlpool. Onur holds a BSME from Bogazici University in Turkey, MSc and PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University, and is Professor of Industrial / Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Onur is currently writing a series of books on applying simulation tools to solve manufacturing problems. Onur is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), and the Michigan Simulation Users Group (MSUG). Onur has published more than 50 papers in operations research and industrial engineering and has managed over 100 large-scale simulation projects. Onur and his wife enjoy long hiking adventures and biking trips (frequently spotted on their tandem bike between Ann Arbor and Dexter) in addition to listening to and playing classical music.


STEVEN WEISS

Steven Weiss is Director of IT Services at PMC.  For more than fifteen years, Steven has built applications and led deployments for dozens of customers in the U.S. and overseas.  Steven brings a user orientation and a systems interoperability perspective to engagements.  His functional areas of expertise include software development and network engineering.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan – Dearborn.


ROBERT THEUT

Robert Theut is the Director of Program Management at PMC. For more than 17 years Robert has managed programs ranging from heavy off road equipment coordination and purchasing to major plant retooling for dozens of customers in various industries including automotive, sand and gravel, warehousing, material logistics and aeronautics. Robert has recently successfully launched the Chrysler KL Program for the build of the new Jeep Cherokee and also recently launched the Chrysler UF Program for the build of the new Chrysler 200. Robert has a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and is a decorated war veteran serving for nearly 10 years in the United States Air Force.


CHRIS MOUNTS

Chris Mounts is the Director of Laser Scanning and CAD Services at PMC. For over twenty years, Chris has been scanning and modeling facilities around the world. He has scanned over 100 million square feet of buildings and facilities. Chris continues to be a technology leader within the industry writing multiple regional and national CAD and BIM standards, presenting at multiple industry conferences, and has been twice recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) receiving the Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) award for two consecutive years.



SERHAT EREN, PH.D.

Dr. Serhat Eren, who holds a PhD Degree from Purdue University- Indiana,  is the Director of Quality and Operational Excellence at PMC. Dr. Eren has over 19+ years of experience in the Quality, Supplier Quality, Warranty, Program Management, Safe Launch, Focus Improvement, Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Facilities, Maintenance, Health, Safety and Environmental disciplines.  Dr. Eren has held positions as a Global Quality Director, Sr. Manager of Quality and Continuous Improvement, Mgr. of Engineering, and Sr. Engineer. He has a diverse background with experience mainly in Automotive industry. OEM Customers he worked with are Ford, GM, FCA, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Peugeot, & Renault. Some of the main Tier 1 and 2 customers worked with are Magna, Valeo, Lear, Aptiv, & Innoviz.


Dr. Eren has attained lead and internal auditor certifications for several standards that are ISO/TS 16949 (IATF 16949), ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 (ISO45001), ESD S20.20, & VDA 6.3.  He is also certified in The Automotive Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, MSA, FMEA), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (DMAIC & DFSS) Master. Dr. Eren has ensured registration and transitions in compliance with Local/ State/ Federal Government and international standards, regulatory and legislation are achieved, and expectations are always met and/or exceeded. Some of his experience with Regulatory bodies, Standards, Associations, Administrations include: TUV, ESDA, Intertek, ASTM, IPC, DOE, ASQ, and AIAG. Dr. Eren’s teaching style is very engaging and believes in making all of his courses pertinent to each learner. He clearly articulates complex situations to make concepts easy to understand through activities, visual aids, and real-life industry examples.

ROGER G. KLUNGLE, PH.D.

Dr. Klungle is the Senior Consultant on projects for PMC and received his BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and his MS and PhD in Operations Research and Statistics from George Washington University.  He is currently an independent consultant in the area of statistical analysis and data mining.  He also is an Adjunct Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn where he teaches graduate level courses in statistics, operations research, project management and systems engineering.   He has also been an adjunct faculty at Eastern Michigan University, Central Michigan University, Wayne State University, University of Detroit-Mercy, George Washington University, and American University.  

In the world of business and government he has worked in defense systems engineering and national security management and taught at the Defense Systems Management College and the National Defense University.  In the private sector he has worked in energy, insurance, automotive and consulting.  In these organizations he specialized in business intelligence and data mining, leading a wide range of projects developing descriptive and predictive models to include: direct mail campaigns, market segmentation based on purchase behaviors, customer life time value, in-market and in-segment timing, customer transition from used to new vehicles, key factors affecting customer satisfaction with dealer service quality, key workload drivers for call center operations, and the analysis of market campaign results. 

Dr. Klungle has published numerous papers and research reports and has been a regular speaker at professional conferences.
